Akshara Singh

Assistant Professor of Hindi

Dr Akshara Singh joined St. Mary’s College in 2004 and has a teaching experience that spans nearly 25 years. She keeps updating herself with the latest knowledge in her discipline and likes to interact with the students on contemporary issues and topics. Passionate about her work, she sets realistic goals and displays professionalism in her undertakings. She has served the institution as a member of several committees.

G. Chris Lenina Peters

MA; BCS; CoP in Spanish

Lecturer in English

Chris Lenina Peters has worked in several institutions, including as Assistant Professor at Women’s College, Koti. Beyond academics, she spends her time in service of the underprivileged. She was awarded ‘Jewel of Telangana’ by Nexus Éclat Honors Society International, Kansas, USA. Her strong points are her positive attitude, dedication and commitment to her students. In addition to a Masters in English, she has a Bachelors in Christian Studies and also a Certificate of Proficiency in Spanish from English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU). She is pursuing her PhD in English. She offers a Certificate Course in Conversational Spanish (Level 1) at St Mary’s College. She is currently the Secretary of the St Mary’s College Staff Association.

Maithry Shinde

MA, MPhil, PhD

Assistant Professor of English 

Dr. Maithry Shinde has been a passionate teacher for over two decades, facilitating Language, Literature and Soft Skills at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. She has held several administrative positions like the Head of the Department of English & Languages and Head of Research and Consultancy at St Mary’s College, and Head of the Department for English and Humanities, IQAC Coordinator and also the Governing Body Member at Aurora’s Degree & PG College. She has been a resource person at the Judicial Academy for more than eight years. She has also served as a member of the Board of Studies of the Department of English, Osmania University, and has contributed towards the preparation of the department’s undergraduate text book 2016 and also for the CBT (Computer Based Testing) Listening Skills material for four consecutive years. She is a Member of the Board of Studies of the Department of Languages at Bhavan’s Degree College. She is also a Member of the Board of Studies of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University and is contributing towards the preparation of text books for B.A students. She has organized several Conferences, Seminars, Faculty Development Programmes and Workshops. She has several research papers presented and published in national and international journals to her acclaim. Currently, she is the Chair of the Library Committee of the College.

C. Ismail

Lecturer in Arabic

Ismail has been in the teaching profession for about 30 years, and joined St. Mary’s Junior College, Yousufguda, in 1997. He has been with St. Mary’s College since its inception. He is dedicated to his profession and has been the Head of the Department of Second Languages and a member of the Examination Committee. He continuously updates himself with the latest in the field of language and literature in order to guide students more effectively.

Rebecca Vedavathy B.

MA, PhD

Assistant Professor of French

Dr. Rebecca Vedavathy joined the Department of Languages in April 2022. She was awarded her PhD in French by the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad in 2020. Her research interests lie in: critical feminist theory, Francophone literatures, immigration studies, indigenous Canadian literatures and religious studies. She previously worked at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore for two years. Earlier, she was a Research Intern at L’Université du Québec à Montréal as Doctoral Fellow of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. She has published and presented research papers in reputed journals and conferences in India and abroad. She is also an award-winning poet. She has been invited to read her poems at the Hyderabad Literary Festival, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Nazariya International Women’s Film Festival (Hyderabad) and Centre for Indian Languages (Banaras), among others. While not teaching or preparing for classes, she enjoys reading, writing verse and sketching. She has served as the Faculty Mentor of Vox Populi, the soft skills club of St. Mary’s College.

Rajita Anand Singh

MA, MPhil, PhD; PGCTE

Assistant Professor of English

Dr. Rajita Anand Singh has been an educator for nearly two decades. A committed academic with a genuine interest to keep learning, she continues to devote time and effort to make herself more effective as a teacher. Her classes are lively and interactive, and she motivates students to accomplish their goals and excel in every field of life. She has been a subject expert and a presenter for the UGC-MHRD sponsored E- Content Development Programme for English Language and Literature Honours Programmes of the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) at the English and Foreign Languages University. She has also worked as a course developer for American Literature to Osmania University’s Prof G Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education. She completed her Ph.D in English Literature from K L University in 2019. Her focus area of research has been American Literature, and she has a few research publications to her credit.

Saikiran D

MA

Assistant Professor of English &
Head of the Department

Saikiran taught English at an engineering college before he joined St. Mary’s College in 2016. Prior to taking up teaching, he interned with an advertising agency. His research interests include Masculinity Studies, African-American Literature, Postcolonial Literature and Minority Studies. He has an eclectic approach to acquiring new information and learning new languages. He has Beginner Level Certificates in Russian and Arabic from the University of Hyderabad. He is pursuing his PhD in English from Osmania University. Currently, he is the Head of the Department of English & Languages at St Mary’s College.

K Sangeetha

Lecturer in English

Sangeetha taught English at the undergraduate and intermediate levels for twelve years before she joined St. Mary’s College in July 2024. Prior to taking up teaching at the college level, she has also taught English at the High School level. She has published a couple of papers in international journals and has also presented (and published) four papers in international conferences and national seminars. She also has a chapter in a book to her credit. She has submitted her PhD thesis in February 2024 and is awaiting her thesis defence. Outside of academics, she is a talented singer.

S Manoj Kanth

Assistant Professor of English

Dr S Manoj Kanth joined the Department of English in January 2024 with nearly six years of teaching and industry experience. He is a creative and passionate teacher who fosters a student-centred classroom-environment based on mutual respect and collaboration. Committed to helping students identify and develop their passions while becoming enthusiastic and thorough readers of English literature, he has taught English as an Assistant Professor at reputed institutions including the Central University of Karnataka. He has presented papers in academic conferences and has a couple of research publications to his credit. He has a PhD in English Literature from the University of Hyderabad.

Soumya K.

MA (Sanskrit), PhD

Assistant Professor of Sanskrit

Dr Soumya K joined the Department of Languages in December 2023 with nearly six years of teaching and industry experience. As an academic with a profound interest in Indian philosophy and literature, she has been an active researcher and trainer. After she completed her undergraduate studies in Engineering, she pursued a second Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit (Special Vedanta and Sahitya), in which she secured the second rank. She then went on to complete her Master’s degree in Sanskrit (Vedanta) from Mahatma Gandhi University, where she secured the first rank. Her academic journey continued with an MPhil from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, where too she secured the first rank. She then continued there for her PhD in Sanskrit, which she successfully completed in 2022. Her PhD thesis was on Metaphysical Perspectives: Advaitic Thought and Sufism. She has more than 20 research papers and a book titled Sufism and Vedanta to her credit. As a Sanskrit linguist, she has also actively contributed to research ideas in interface areas with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technologies. She is a member of academic forums such as the Global Forum for Young Philosophers and the All Indian History Congress. For her contributions, she has won six awards so far, including the Acharya Chanakya Samman in 2023.

Vasanth Rao

Lecturer in Sanskrit

Vasanth Rao has been teaching intermediate and undergraduate students for nearly two decades now. Prior to joining the St. Mary’s College in 2016, he worked with several prestigious institutions at Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. He is lively and amiable by nature and passionate about Sanskrit. He is committed to making a difference in the lives of his students and friends. He is also an instructor of Yoga and Meditation. He is currently pursuing his PhD from the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, now the National Sanskrit University.

B Swathi

Assistant Professor of Commerce &
Head – Research & Consultancy

Dr B Swathi joined the Department of Commerce in September 2021 with over 25 years of experience teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has postgraduate qualifications in both Commerce and Management. Her PhD thesis was on Motivation and Employee Satisfaction. She is also experienced as a teacher-administrator having served as the Principal of an undergraduate college for over three years. A dynamic teacher, Dr Swathi is passionate about nurturing young minds. She is currently keen on getting back to research and knowledge creation. Prior to her days as an administrator, she has participated in several conferences, workshops and symposia, and have presented and published papers and research articles. For over 15 years, she has also guided several projects involving MBA, MCom and BBA students. Currently, she heads the Research & Consultancy Division of the College.

Rupini joined the Department of Commerce in June 2019. Prior to joining St Mary’s College, she had three years’ experience teaching at the undergraduate level and two years experience in the industry. She has successfully completed CA (Intermediate). Currently, she is the Programme Coordinator for Bachelor of Commerce (General) and Bachelor of Commerce (Advertising, Sales Promotion and Sales Management) programmes.

Deepa Agarwal

Head of the Department

Deepa Agarwal has been with St. Mary’s College since June 2008. A dedicated and student-focused teaching professional, she is committed to providing a well-balanced and supportive learning environment to students. She is hardworking and systematic in planning and execution, and shares an excellent professional relationship with her students and colleagues. She is conscious of the variations in student learning styles and abilities and is an effective teacher in diverse classroom environments. She is also pursuing her PhD in Commerce. Since July 2024, she is the Head of the Department of Commerce. She was the Head of the Department even during 2017-20. Subsequently, she was the Chairperson of the Academic Administrative Audit (AAA) Cell  of the College, the Nodal Officer for the Research & Innovation Cell of the College that deals with all student projects, and also the Faculty Mentor of CASH, the Commerce Club of St. Mary’s College. Currently, she is also the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College.

C. Kusuma Reddy

Assistant Professor of Management

Dr C Kusuma Reddy is a seasoned teacher of commerce and management with nearly 20 years of experience. Her PhD in Management is from Andhra University. A focused researcher, she enjoys writing papers and interacting with fellow researchers at various national and international seminars and conferences. She is committed to her students and has proved to be a popular project guide to many of them. She regularly arranges guest lectures and field visits to help students gain maximum practical exposure. She headed the Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) Cell of the College and was also a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). She was also the Secretary of the Staff Association. Currently, she heads the Women Empowerment Committee at St Mary’s College. 

D. Jayalakshmi

Assistant Professor of Commerce 

Jayalakshmi has been with St. Mary’s College since 2005. A popular teacher, she has consistently played the role of a mentor, providing the students with guidance at all levels. Over the years, she has served the college in diverse roles including as the Head of the combined Department of Commerce and Management, the Head of Degree Programmes and Examinations, the Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC), and the Coordinator for Alumni Relations of the College. An able administrator, she was instrumental in initiating several reforms at the departmental level. She has been the Head of the Department of Commerce for multiple terms. Currently, she chairs the Alumni Committee of the College.

M Bikshapathi

Assistant Professor of Commerce

M. Bikshapathi has over a decade of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. He has been with St. Mary’s College since June 2013. He has participated in several national and international seminars and presented papers. He has served the institution in many capacities. Currently, he is the Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor of Commerce (Computers) and  Bachelor of Commerce (Business Analytics) programmes.

Kavitha Thakur

Dr Kavitha Thakur is a seasoned teacher with over 20 years of academic experience. She has been with St. Mary’s College since 2006. Always willing to learn new things, she is a keen researcher, with several presented papers in international and national conferences to her credit. She has served the institution in diverse roles and has headed several committees. She has her PhD in Commerce and Management Studies from Andhra University. Harini P.

Harini joined St. Mary’s College in 2008. A dedicated and committed professional with nearly 15 years’ teaching experience, she is focused on bringing IT education to undergraduate commerce classrooms. A dynamic teacher, she inspires and motivates students to be up-to-date with computers. She also takes a personal initiative to address issues related to staff and student welfare. Earlier, she headed the BCom (Computer Applications) programme at St Mary’s College as Programme Coordinator. She was also the Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee of the institution.

Sajja Deepthi

Dr Sajja Deepthi joined St. Mary’s College with fifteen years of experience teaching Management and Commerce at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has several quality publications to her credit. She has presented numerous papers in several international and national conferences and seminars. She also has published a book on the Fundamentals of Human Resource Management. Her PhD in Management is from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapuram.

Himani Raval

Head of the Department

Dr. Himani Raval has nearly a decade of experience in teaching management students at UG and PG level. Prior to joining St. Mary’s College, she taught Business Management and held administrative positions in reputable colleges in Bangalore and Rajkot. She was awarded a doctorate degree in General Management from R K University, Gujarat in 2017. She holds more than 9 international certifications on management and marketing subjects from Coursera. She has published and presented several national and international research papers on contemporary education and methods of value addition in management education and strives to continue to do so. Her research interests include various methods to improve the quality of business management education and means to make students more job ready. She believes in conducting classes that include both the aspects of fun and learning. She is a strong proponent of making students learn through practical exposure and industry interaction that results in relevant skills among the students. She is currently the Head of the Department of Business Management.

Debanjalee Bose

Debanjalee Bose joined the Department of Business Management in July 2024. She has been a full time Research Scholar and Teaching Research Assistant at VIT Business School since 2021. Earlier, she pursued her MBA in Finance & HR from VIT University, Vellore campus. She has two Scopus-indexed journal publications and two book chapters already to her credit. She also has certifications in Econometrics and in Mutual Funds (NISM). She is awaiting the award of her PhD in Finance.

Dr D Kanthi Sree is a dedicated and goal-driven professional educator with solid commitment to academic growth and student development. She joined the Department of Management with more than 15 years of experience teaching Business Management at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. She earned her PhD from the Andhra University in Human Resource Management. Her areas of expertise include Marketing as well but her research interests lie primarily in Human Resource Management. She has participated and presented research papers in various national conferences, and has also published articles in leading national journals. She has also attended several workshops and faculty development programmes. She is outcome-oriented and she positively motivates her students to come up with innovative ideas for their individual and collective enrichment.

Dr Kirti Sunil Bidnur joined the Department of Commerce in June 2018. She moved to the Department of Business Management in July 2023. Prior to joining St Mary’s College, she had 6 years of teaching experience from University of Mumbai. Her PhD in Commerce and Management too is from the University of Mumbai. She has published several research papers in reputed journals. She is very positive and has excellent communications skills. She has been a mentor to many students throughout her teaching career. Phebi Priyadarsini

Phebi Priyadarsini joined the Department of Business Management of St Mary’s College in October 2022 after having taught at the graduate and post-graduate level for over twelve years. During her academic career, she has held leadership positions including that of the Head of the Department of Management in a reputed autonomous college. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Management from the National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh. In addition to her teaching experience, she also has eight years of industry experience that has provided her with practical exposure which she is able to bring to her classrooms. She loves to teach, inspire, and nurture young people. She has participated in various national and international conferences and seminars and has presented many research papers. Satya Swaroop Roy joined St. Mary’s College in 2019, prior to which he taught post graduate students of business administration for over six years. Anu Victor

Anu Victor has been a lecturer in Computer Science at St. Mary’s College since 2007. Prior to joining St. Mary’s College, she had 6 years of teaching experience, having worked as a lecturer at ICFAI National College, Hyderabad, St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad, and Christ College (now Christ University), Bengaluru. Goal-driven and ambitious, she is an enthusiastic and committed educator with a natural ability to inspire students. She is pursuing her PhD in Computer Science. She was the Faculty Mentor of Spectra, the IT Club at St. Mary’s College and the Secretary of the Staff Association of the College. Currently, she heads the Department of Sciences.

K. Deepthi Priya

Assistant Professor of Biotechnology

Dr K Deepthi Priya re-joined the Department of Sciences in April 2022. She was a Lecturer in Biotechnology at St. Mary’s College during 2007-10. During the interim period, she worked with various reputed undergraduate and post-graduate colleges in Hyderabad including as an Assistant professor of Biotechnology at the St Francis College for Women, Begumpet. She pursued her M.Tech in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Her doctoral work on “Biotransformation Studies of Terpenes” was done in CSIR-recognized Privi Organics at Mumbai and in 2018, she received her PhD Degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University. Based on her doctoral research, she published four research papers in various National and International journals. Her areas of expertise are: Industrial Biotechnology and Microbial technology. She is passionate about equipping students with research skills. She is an avid reader and loves to explore new places and cuisines. 

Jaimole Cross

Principal

Dr Jaimole Cross joined St. Mary’s College in 2004 as a Lecturer in Statistics. Prior to joining St.Mary’s College, she had 6 years of teaching experience. A passionate professional, she is proactive and enthusiastic about building and managing the College and, especially, the Department of Sciences. She believes in collaboration and in building good teams. A committed teacher with effective discipline skills, she works towards promoting positive behaviour among the staff and students. Her areas of academic interest are Operation Research and Data Analytics. Since 2022, she is the Principal of the College. She has served the institution in many capacities including as Vice-Principal, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Sciences. She is a member of the Governing Body of the College.

Mahanta Chauhan

Lecturer in Computer Science

Mahanta Chauhan joined the Department of Sciences with a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from Indraprastha university, Delhi and nearly 4 years of teaching experience, having taught at multiple levels ranging from intermediate to masters. Prior to joining St Mary’s College, she was a lecturer at a Women’s Degree and PG College in Hyderabad. She has done an internship with NCR Corporation, Gurugram for 6 months which has given her some real world corporate exposure in the field. She has also successfully completed a 4 month certification course in Core and Advance Java. She holds a green belt in Karate and was trained by Delhi Police in self-defense. She represented NCC Directorate Delhi and excelled as a leader for Prime Minister’s rally. As an innovative and knowledgeable professional, she knows how to devise and foster fascinating, captivating and unique practices to intrigue the students and lead them to become leaders.

Nagendgra Kumar Gollapudi

Lecturer in Mathematics

Nagendra Kumar joined the Department of Sciences as a Lecturer in Mathematics in June 2018, after 8 years of teaching Mathematics to engineering and undergraduate students. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D in Mathematics from JNT University, Anantapur. His areas of academic interests are number theory, and the applications of differential and partial differential equations. Currently, he is a member of the Examinations Committee at St Mary’s College.

Prathyusha Yamarthi

Lecturer in Biochemistry

Prathyusha has been working as a lecturer in Biochemistry at St. Mary’s College since 2016. She is a self-motivated and goal-oriented professional. Having worked with prestigious institutes like the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), she has good demonstrative, technical and analytical skills in biochemistry, which she effectively utilizes to enhance learning. She is well-organized and encourages students to participate in various science events and activities. She is pursuing her PhD in Biochemistry. She was the Faculty Mentor for Dazzlers, the Dance Club at St. Mary’s College. Currently, she is the Programme Coordinator for BSc (Life Sciences)

Padmaleela Damaraju

Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Dr. Padmaleela Damaraju joined the Department of Sciences in 2022, with over 14 years of experience teaching graduate and undergraduate students of Computer Science in Mumbai. Prior to taking up teaching, she had also worked as an Associate Software Engineer and Java Developer in the industry. She has served her previous institution as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and as a member of the IQAC. She has also co-authored two textbooks for Mumbai University students in Principles of Web Design and Web Technologies. She has organised conferences and presented papers. Her research articles have been published in multiple journals. She has a practical-oriented approach to teaching concepts of Computer Science and gives real world examples during knowledge transfer. She is patient and approachable, and believes in cultivating creative and critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students. She has been mentoring her students, focusing on both their physical and emotional well-being, leading them to build stronger relationships, succeed at college and work, and
achieve their career and personal goals. She is currently the Faculty Mentor for Spectra, the IT Club of St Mary’s College.

Raga Sudha Jonnada

Raga Sudha joined the Department of Sciences in December 2020 with about 11 years of teaching experience. She has done her Masters in Mathematics from the College of Sciences, Osmania University and has also done her B.Ed. A confident, committed, and hardworking teacher, her areas of interests are Differential Equations, Algebra and Real Analysis. Earlier, in addition to teaching, she has also worked as placements facilitator and career guidance convener for her college.

In the United States, she has worked as a volunteer in schools in Kentucky. She has been certified in ‘Youth Mental Health First Aid’ by the National Council for Behavioral Health & Missouri Department of Mental Health, USA. In addition, she has done a CEU certificate course on Solving Classroom Discipline Problems. She has also visited the North Kentucky University. Sharol Sebastian

Dr Sharol Sebastian joined the Department of Sciences in October 2024, after completing her PhD in Chemistry from the Central University of Haryana. She was a Teaching Assistant during her doctoral studies. Dr Sharol completed her school and college education from Rajasthan. A brilliant student, she did well in her studies and secured high ranks at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in competitive exams. She has several high quality research publications to her credit.

Satabdi Roy

Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Dr Satabdi Roy joined the Department of Sciences in March 2021. Prior to joining St Mary’s College, she worked as a National Post Doctoral Fellow (SERB-NPDF) and Research Associate at IIT Kanpur in the field of synthetic inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. She earned her PhD from NIT Rourkela in the field of inorganic chemistry. While doing her PhD, she was also a Teaching Assistant for graduate and undergraduate courses at NIT Rourkela. She has published her research work in different international peer reviewed ACS, RSC and Elsevier journals. She has also presented her research work at various national and international conferences. Currently, she is the Faculty Mentor for Ciencia, the Science Club at St. Mary’s College.

Rajya Lakshmi Mantri

Rajya Lakshmi is a passionate professional and statistician, who is always keen to apply her knowledge in teaching. She joined St. Mary’s college in 2023 with nearly two decades of teaching experience across various colleges at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has also trained MSc Nursing students in biostatistics. She completed her MSc in Applied Statistics from the University College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad. She is enthusiastic about learning the latest applications in her field and has completed projects on Data Science, Python, Power BI, TORA,R Programing, and advanced Excel. She involves her students not as passive recipients of information but as active participants in the process of acquiring knowledge. She facilitates student inquiry, preferring to give students the chance to develop their own solutions to problems.

Sowjanya has been working as a Lecturer in Electronics at St. Mary’s College since 2009. She is currently also pursuing her PhD in Electronics. A dedicated professional who radiates positive energy, she is active and ever ready to take up new challenges. Her commitment to students is well known and for many students she is the first person to approach to voice their concerns. Several students, especially international students, have found a caring mentor in her. She has organized many certificate courses as well as co-curricular and extracurricular activities. She has served the institution in many roles including as the Head of Student Activities & Alumni Relations at St. Mary’s College and as the Chief Advisor to the Student Council of the College. She is the Faculty Mentor for Dazzlers, the Dance Club of St Mary’s College. Currently, she heads the BSc (Physical Sciences) programme at St Mary’s College as Programme Coordinator.

Srinath Naganathan

Dr Srinath joined the Department of Sciences of St.Mary’s college in June 2019. Prior to joining St Mary’s College, he has taught or worked as a researcher across different states of India. After he received his PhD in Biotechnology, he worked with several prestigious institutions in Hyderabad. Anamika Sukul

Dr. Anamika Sukul joined the Department of Social Sciences & Humanities in July 2022. She earned a Ph.D. in English from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan with a thesis titled “From Citizen to Enemy: Manifestations of the Japanese Internment Experience in Canada”. A recipient of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Doctoral Fellowship award (funded by MHRD, Govt. of India), she has been a visiting research associate at the University of Victoria (BC). Dr. Sukul also holds an M. Phil degree in English and is a University Gold Medalist at her Master’s level. She is presently working on a monograph based on her doctoral thesis work and has published scholarly essays on a wide variety of topics related to her subject of study. Her current research and publication addresses literatures of forced displacements, ethnic minority writings, the bio-politics of security, logics of power and theoretical reflections on camp-spaces. Other areas of interest include plays of absurdist fiction, Tagore studies, Asian North-American literature, theoretical readings on the Holocaust and its representations in various narrative forms. She has a teaching experience of about four years, majorly centred around courses ranging from the history, theory and practice of literature in English in the Middle Ages up to the 20th Century.

Arun B Jose, an experienced professional with a passion for movies, photography, and music, has joined St. Mary’s College in July 2023 as a Faculty Associate. Earlier, he served as a Visiting Faculty for Photography at Mahindra University. He holds a major in Film and Television (Cinematography) from Ramanaidu Film School. With over 6 years of diverse experience in the film and media industry, his expertise lies in Cinematography, Photography, Non-Linear Editing, and Colour Grading. His primary goal is to equip students with strong technical skills and practical knowledge to make them industry-ready. Arun possesses strong multilingual communication skills. He serves as the Faculty Mentor for the Media and Photography Club named Zariye, where he continues to inspire and guide students in their creative pursuits.

Michael Preetham has been into teaching and training for nearly 20 years. He has been with St. Mary’s College since 2013, prior to which he worked with several prestigious institutions in India and abroad. He comes across as amiable, industrious, dedicated and cordial. He constantly updates himself with the latest developments in the fields of Literature, Language and Soft Skills. A mentor to many, he makes a positive impact on the lives of his students, colleagues and friends. He is also pursuing his PhD in English. He was earlier the Head of the Department of English and Languages, and also of the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

K.T. Srinivas has been teaching at institutions belonging to the St. Mary’s Educational Society since 1998. He has an overall teaching experience of over 25 years. He also has rich experience of coaching students for various competitive exams like NDA, CDS and Civil Services. Although he is popularly known as General KT owing to his strict disciplinary approach, he is a friendly teacher, as many a student will vouch for. He is the Faculty Mentor for the Civil Service Study Circle on campus. Currently, he is also the Coordinator of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at St Mary’s College.

Ramesh Kumar

Dr Ramesh Kumar joined the Department of Social Sciences at St. Mary’s College in June 2019 with a decade and a half of teaching and research experience in reputed colleges and law schools. A Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad, he has attended several international and national seminars/conferences and has presented and published several papers. His research interests are in the fields of conflict studies and local self government. He has several publications to his credit, most of which are the result of field-based research that he has done in the north-western part of India. Gisa George joined the Department of Commerce of St. Mary’s College in June 2018, after completing her Masters in Commerce with a specialisation in Finance. In October 2022, she took up the responsibility for HR management of the College. She is passionate about mentoring and her positive attitude, dedication and patience are appreciated by all. Sadbhavana is a Mental Health Professional with over 8 years of experience, including 4 years in student Counselling across various age groups. She has primarily worked with adolescents and young adults. She works on destigmatizing mental health by spreading awareness through conversations. She is a strong believer in the ‘power of self-healing’. Her approach lies in empowering clients by providing them with a comfortable space to vent and reflect. She is a quick learner and has equipped herself with a number of courses pertaining to the field of counselling. Her classes are filled with daily life examples and are interactive. She is passionate about singing and is a trained Carnatic Singer and has also been a member of the choir in the institutions she studied in.

Her diverse experience spans nearly a decade. She started in the medical field as a lab technician and then moved to the education sector with roles in Delhi Government’s Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Khyati World School in Ahmedabad, Janapriya and Niraj Public Schools in Hyderabad. She has also been the Operations Manager of a Fitness Centre for a year. As a trainer and coach, she is committed to holistic well-being. She loves sports, yoga and dance. She also nurtures a passion for reading books and exploring new things.
