The Literary Club organized a skit competition Wednesday, Sep 17, 2008 in Theatrix. There were four skits both from Degree and Intermediate, and a total of 38 students actively participated in the competition.
The event was graced by the presence of two eminent judges - Ms.Geetanjali, HOD of Commerce Department and Mr. Murthy, Lecturer of Mathematics. Their valuable presence and judgement truly made the occasion a successful one.
These skits were titled as “Doctor DJ”, “Classroom”, “Eat to live----Do not live to eat!” and “Peer pressure or bad influence.” All these four skits had done true justice to their titles and themes. The first skit “Doctor D J” was presented by an Intermediate group, MPC IInd year.
The actors of the skit truly justified the script. The B.A Mass Com group presented the second skit titled “Eat to live ---- Do not live to eat”. The script, as the title suggests, truly encouraged the audience to lead a healthy life by proper eating and regular excercises instead of turning to the Obesity centers after the damage is done. The third skit titled as “Classroom” which was presented by the MEC IInd year students. These thirteen students have really brought the classroom on stage with their appropriate use of props, and their comic timings have tickled the audience. The last group was again from Degree, students from Bcom 1C presented a serious skit highlighting the problems of young generation and the title of the skit “ Peer Pressure” represented the theme in the true sense.
The Skit competition came to an end with the declaration of the results. There were two prizes, first prize was for the best skit and the second prize was for the best actor. The skit “ Doctor DJ”, presented by the Intermediate students, was declared the best skit of the day. And the best actor was awarded to Pranav from BA Mass Com first year (for the skit “ Eat to liveāDo not live to eat” ). Certificates and the prizes of the event will be given during the college fest “Prerna”. |
